History of C Language
C is a programming language developed at AT & T’s Bell Laboratories of USA in 1972. It was designed and written by Dennis Ritchie and Ken Thompson.
At first, UNIX was written on a PDP-7 and then shifted to a PDP-11 machine.Initially they used assembly language to write it and graduated to BCPL. Later, UNIX was re-implemented using C language. By 1972, most of the UNIX was written in C, it was given the name as it is the next level to language B.
